  • Grok Bot ships speed pass: computer tasks 3x faster, other replies in under half the time.
  • New connectors: Robinhood, Coinbase, Trello, PostHog, beehiiv, eToro, plus an open plugin marketplace.
  • Can now read X Chat DMs and be triggered by tagging @bot in a post.
  • Email supports plus aliases so routines fire only on specific inbound addresses.
  • Voice calls faster, more reliable, with better memory across past calls.
  • Bundled free with Grok Premium ($30), Super ($100), and Ultra ($200) monthly plans.

Grok Bot adds faster tasks, X triggers, and third-party connectors

xAI has updated Grok Bot, its agent product for assigning tasks to bots that operate a cloud computer, sign in to connected tools, and run saved routines. The release combines performance improvements with new connectors, X integration, email routing, faster voice calls, and a redesigned chat interface.

xAI reports that computer-use tasks now finish about three times as fast on average, while other responses arrive in less than half the previous time. Lower latency makes interactive browser tasks easier to supervise and helps scheduled jobs finish before work queues accumulate.

Speed leads the release

  • Computer use: Tasks complete about three times as fast on average, according to xAI.
  • Other responses: Response times have been cut by more than half.
  • Chat interface: Redesigned cards, a new typeface, and additional themes.
  • X triggers: Tag @bot in an X post to start a task.
  • X Chat: An authorized bot can work with direct-message conversations.
  • Email aliases: A routine can run only when mail arrives at a designated alias.
  • Voice calls: Calls start faster, fail less often, and carry context from earlier calls.
  • Notifications: Alerts route to the device currently in use.
  • Connectors: Robinhood, Coinbase, Trello, PostHog, beehiiv, and eToro.

Those performance figures are vendor-reported averages, so results will depend on the websites, connectors, task length, and approval steps involved in a workflow.

Connector submissions open the catalog

xAI now accepts third-party teams that want to submit connectors. The existing Bot Marketplace offers prebuilt agents such as Sales Outbound, Talent Scout, Account Health, and Chief of Staff. Connector submissions give outside developers a route to support additional services through the same product.

The Model Context Protocol, commonly called MCP, provides a standard interface through which AI clients can retrieve data and invoke tools. Its use across multiple assistants can reduce the amount of service-specific integration code that developers maintain.

The new brokerage links carry broader permissions than a typical productivity connector. The Robinhood MCP can read positions, balances, and order history, then place trades through a dedicated agentic sub-account. The eToro MCP works with Claude, ChatGPT, and Grok without requiring users to copy API keys.

A scheduled research routine could combine several of the new connectors:

  1. Read portfolio positions from Robinhood and eToro each Friday.
  2. Calculate weekly changes and collect supporting market data.
  3. Create a Trello card containing the findings and source links.
  4. Prepare a beehiiv draft for editorial review.

Trading access raises the cost of a mistaken action. Teams should inspect requested scopes, use dedicated accounts where available, require confirmations for transactions, and review each plugin’s data-retention terms.

One cloud computer, many routines

Grok Bot runs through desktop apps for macOS and Windows and an iOS app. Each user receives a persistent cloud computer shared by the bots created under that account, allowing them to reuse authenticated sessions, preserve context, and hand work to one another.

The shared environment also expands the effect of a compromised session or overbroad permission. Test accounts, restricted connector scopes, and separate workspaces can limit exposure while a team evaluates a workflow.

Plus-address routing turns the text after + in an email address into an automation key. A setup could map aliases to routines like this:

scss
you+invoices@yourdomain.com -> Parse invoice; create Trello card
you+newsletter@yourdomain.com -> Summarize message; prepare beehiiv draft
you+calendar@yourdomain.com -> Parse ICS attachment; add calendar event

Each alias routes to the same underlying inbox while preserving enough information for Grok Bot to select the correct routine. Mail providers and domain configurations must support plus addressing for this pattern to work.

Bundled plans, metered overages

Grok Bot is bundled with existing Grok subscriptions, with higher tiers receiving larger usage allowances.

Plan Monthly price Included usage
Premium $30 Base allowance
Super $100 3.5 times Premium
Ultra $200 12 times Premium

Usage above the included weekly allowance is billed according to token cost. Teams and Enterprise plans also include Grok Bot, while Enterprise administrators can configure data-loss prevention, certificate, proxy, and network controls when the environment starts.

X becomes a task queue

Grok Bot competes with products such as ChatGPT Agent and Poke, which handles proactive, connector-based tasks through iMessage and WhatsApp. Robinhood also lists Poke, ChatGPT, Claude, and Grok among its supported AI clients.

Grok Bot’s distinctive entry point is X itself. Users can invoke a task by tagging @bot in a post or authorize access to X Chat conversations. Because an X post may be public, prompts sent through that surface should exclude credentials, private customer data, and other secrets.

Run a bounded trial

A useful first evaluation should use one low-risk workspace and a routine with clear success criteria, such as converting incoming requests into Trello cards.

  1. Record the current completion time and manual steps.
  2. Teach Grok Bot the routine by demonstration.
  3. Run the workflow repeatedly with representative inputs.
  4. Track completion time, intervention rate, errors, permissions, and token overages.

Completion time and intervention rate will show whether xAI’s reported gains transfer to the tools and workflows a team actually uses.
