Suno is making a pointed move toward the artist community. The AI music platform just launched Spark, a new incubator program that offers unsigned independent artists real money, marketing muscle, and industry connections -- with no strings attached to their creative or commercial rights. It is a calculated charm offensive from a company that has become one of the most controversial names in music.
What's in the box
The program is open to unsigned singers, songwriters, and producers 18 and older, and will give selected individuals grants ranging in the thousands to tens of thousands of dollars, additional funds for marketing, invitations to Suno's songwriting camps, and the opportunity for feedback on their work.
The full package for accepted artists includes:
- Project grants -- cash to fund recordings and releases, scaled to where an artist is in their career
- Marketing support -- tailored to each artist's needs, potentially including influencer marketing, advertising, digital exposure, support creating visuals, events, activations, and press opportunities
- Industry mentorship -- writing camps with professional artists and access to established music video directors
- Editorial placement -- featured spots and artist spotlights across Suno's platform
- Platform perks -- early access to unreleased Suno features, free Premier subscription, and song credits
- Dedicated partner manager -- a single point of contact at Suno throughout the program
Participating artists retain creative control and commercial rights of their works. Suno will not play a role in the process of selecting or using a distributor -- that part is left up to the artists' discretion.
