Personal Computer, Perplexity's local AI agent harness, is now generally available on Windows 10 and 11. The launch completes the platform's cross-desktop story: after launching on Mac, the company is now bringing the desktop version of its cloud orchestrator to Windows machines. For the hundreds of millions of people who do their real work in Windows, this is the first time Perplexity's agentic system can actually reach into their local environment and act on it.

Who wins, who should worry
The competitive dynamics here are genuinely interesting. The enterprise launch positions Perplexity against formidable incumbents. Microsoft has embedded its Copilot AI assistant across the entire Microsoft 365 suite and aggressively expanded agent capabilities through Copilot Studio, which allows organizations to create custom AI workflows connected to Salesforce, ServiceNow, and other enterprise systems.
But Perplexity's pitch is structural differentiation, not a feature-for-feature fight.
