  • MIT licensed, requires only Python 3.9+ and Git plus a one-shot install script

A new open source Claude Skill called Anything to NotebookLM has quietly climbed to nearly 5.7k stars by solving a boring but real problem: getting arbitrary content into Google NotebookLM without a dozen manual steps. Point Claude Code at a URL, a file path, or a search query, and it fetches, converts, uploads, and generates a podcast, slide deck, mind map, or quiz from whatever comes out the other side.

The repo bundles a Claude Code Skill definition, a Python CLI, two MCP servers, and a six-layer paywall bypass script. You talk to Claude in natural language, and the skill figures out what kind of source you handed it and which tool chain to run.

What it actually accepts

Input type is auto-detected from the URL or file path, so nothing needs to be specified manually. The supported source list is long enough to be the main selling point:

  • WeChat public account articles, scraped through a Playwright-based MCP browser
  • X/Twitter threads, YouTube videos with subtitle extraction
  • Chinese podcast platforms Xiaoyuzhou, Ximalaya, and Bilibili via the Get Note transcription API
  • PDFs including scanned documents with OCR, EPUB books, Markdown, and plain text
  • Office files: .docx, .pptx, .xlsx
  • Images with automatic OCR, audio files with automatic transcription, and ZIP archives for batch processing
