Monid open-sources its gateway for 2,000 agent tools

Monid has published its Deno 2 and TypeScript engine and connector catalog under the MIT license in a GitHub repository. The project gives AI agents one base URL and one API key for more than 2,000 tools from over 72 providers, covering web search, scraping, enrichment, social platforms, market data, and generative media.

The hosted Monid service remains a paid product with managed execution and consolidated billing. The source release includes the connector definitions, execution engine, compiler, and test fixtures. Contributors can now inspect the endpoint definitions used by the hosted catalog and propose changes through pull requests.

A gateway for scattered APIs

OpenRouter gives developers a common interface for models from multiple vendors. Monid applies that gateway pattern to external tools that agents call while completing tasks, including search engines, data providers, scrapers, and media generators.

Direct integrations usually require separate vendor accounts, credentials, billing arrangements, request formats, and error-handling code. They can also bind a workflow to a provider before its long-term price, reliability, or coverage is clear. Monid exposes the catalog through a common contract and lets an agent select an endpoint independently for each call.
