Mindwalk Turns Claude Code Agent Sessions Into 3D Glowing Maps
Mindwalk turns your repo into a 3D city and replays your Claude Code or Codex agent sessions as glowing light moving across it.
PRO- Mindwalk replays Claude Code and Codex sessions as light moving across a 3D map of your repo.
- Files glow based on how deeply and often the agent touched them, with color-coded interaction depth.
- Playback timeline separates observation events from mutation events on a cool/warm spectrum.
- Timeline marks flag context compactions, subagent launches, and user turns as click-to-jump targets.
- Single Go binary, fully local, no session data leaves the machine, MIT licensed.
- Deterministic citymap layout lets you compare agent footprints across different runs.
Debugging what a coding agent did on a long task is a special kind of pain. The session log tells you which tools ran and which files got edited, but not what the agent treated as relevant, where it wandered before acting, or whether its footprint matched the scope you had in mind. Mindwalk is a new open source tool that renders your repository as a 3D map and replays the agent's session as light moving through it.
Written in Go with a React and Three.js frontend, the project has already crossed 1,300 stars on GitHub. It reads session logs from Claude Code and Codex locally, so nothing about your code or agent runs leaves the machine.
What the raw log can't show you
A session log records what an agent did, not how it understood the task: which parts of the repo it treated as relevant, where it explored before acting, whether its footprint matched the scope you intended. Reconstructing that from raw JSONL is slow and unreliable. Mindwalk's premise is that the agent's understanding has a shape, and that shape is easier to see than to read. It draws the repository as a night map and plays the session back as light: where the agent searched, read, and edited glows; everything else stays dark.
