HolyClaude is an open-source Docker container that turns the painful, multi-hour process of setting up Claude Code on a server into a single docker compose up. It bundles Anthropic's official Claude Code CLI, a browser-based web UI, eight AI coding agents, a fully configured headless Chromium browser, and over 50 development tools into one pre-built image. The project has crossed 2,400 stars on GitHub and is MIT-licensed with zero extra cost beyond your existing Anthropic subscription.
The problem it actually solves
Getting Claude Code running in Docker is deceptively hard. Chromium won't launch because Docker's shared memory is 64MB, Xvfb isn't configured, the UID inside the container doesn't match your host and everything is permission denied, Claude Code's installer hangs when WORKDIR is root-owned, and SQLite locks on NAS mounts. Each of those is a separate rabbit hole. The author ran this daily on their own server for weeks, hitting every bug, diagnosing it, and fixing it.
There is no official Claude Code Docker image from Anthropic, but with community implementations, Docker-based Claude Code environments are rapidly gaining adoption. HolyClaude is the most complete of those implementations, positioning itself as an infrastructure layer rather than just a thin wrapper.
