Claude Code Viewer Gives Anthropic's Terminal Agent a Real Browser UI
Claude Code Viewer is an open-source web client that turns your local Claude Code sessions into a browsable, mobile-friendly workspace with Git tooling and remote access.
PRO- Web-based client for Claude Code with 1.1k+ stars, MIT licensed, TypeScript.
- Runs via
npx @kimuson/claude-code-viewer, requires Node 22.13+ and macOS or Linux. - Two auth modes: API key unlocks chat sending, Subscription mode is read-plus-copy-CLI-command only.
- Includes full-text search, Git diff viewer, commit and push, and message scheduler with cron.
- PWA with Tailscale-friendly remote access and push notifications on session completion.
- Auto-continue on rate limit and inline tool-approval panels reduce babysitting of long agent runs.
If you use Claude Code from the terminal but want a real UI, session history search, or the ability to check on runs from your phone, Claude Code Viewer is worth a look. The MIT-licensed TypeScript project wraps a browser interface around the standard Claude Code session logs stored on your machine, and it now has just over 1,100 stars on GitHub.
Every tool call, todo list, diff, and sub-agent invocation from your Claude Code runs is rendered in a searchable, filterable UI instead of terminal scrollback. Strict Zod schema validation means nothing gets silently dropped from the logs, and a progressive disclosure UI keeps details out of the way until you want them.
One command, no install
Launch it directly from npm:
npx @kimuson/claude-code-viewer@latest --port 3400Then open http://localhost:3400. You need Node.js 22.13.0 or later, Claude Code v1.0.125 or later, and macOS or Linux. Windows is not supported. The npm package exposes flags for hostname, password auth, a custom Claude executable path, and an --api-only mode for integrating with tools like n8n.

Two auth modes, and why the choice bites
On first launch you pick an authentication mode, and the choice changes what the app can do. As of April 2026, Anthropic's Terms of Service prohibit using the Agent SDK to send chat messages with a subscription account. The project responded by making agent-driven actions opt-in:
