Anthropic Ships Prebuilt Legal Workflows Directly Into Claude
Claude for Legal rolls out a gallery of prebuilt artifacts for contract review, cite checking, and regulatory scans, plus 60+ connectors.
- Anthropic launched a gallery of ready-made legal artifacts inside Claude for Legal.
- Six core templates: cite check, jurisdiction matrix, matter board, playbook deviation, regulatory scan, tabular review.
- Each artifact opens with an example, accepts your documents and connectors, and links every output to its source.
- Over 60 legal connectors added since May, including Bloomberg Law, Filevine, Ivo, Legora, Patlytics.
- Partner-built artifacts come from Harvey, Goodwin, Foley & Lardner, and PwC, alongside nine access-to-justice tools.
- Spellbook reports approaching 500,000 contracts per month running through Claude-powered review.
Anthropic has added a gallery of prebuilt Artifacts to Claude for Legal, giving in-house departments and law firms interactive workflows for contract review, citation checking, matter management, and regulatory tracking. The new gallery lets users start with a working interface and sample data, then connect their own documents and sources.
Within Claude, an Artifact is a shareable interactive tool, such as a tracker, table, or dashboard. Each legal template shows how the workflow operates before users add their data. Claude produces a source-linked first pass, and the lawyer reviews the analysis and makes the final decision.
Six workflows arrive ready to run
Anthropic built six core Artifacts around tasks that legal teams frequently perform:
- Cite Check compares a document with its sources and flags misquotes, incorrect page numbers, and citations that fail to support a claim.
- Jurisdiction Survey Matrix compares how states or countries address a topic, such as data-breach notification, and links each entry to the governing law.
- Matter Board converts engagement letters, emails, or spreadsheets into a consolidated view of open matters, owners, and deadlines.
- Playbook Deviation Board checks incoming contracts against an organization’s standard terms and routes flagged clauses to designated approvers.
- Regulatory Horizon Scan places upcoming regulations on a timeline and ranks them by business impact.
- Tabular Review extracts specified terms, including severance, noncompete, and change-in-control provisions, across multiple contracts and links to the exact language.
Each template works with documents or connected sources selected by the user. Claude structures or compares the material, cites the relevant source, and leaves approval and legal judgment to the practitioner.
Tables, timelines, and handoffs
Claude for Legal launched in May 2026. Anthropic says legal teams have since asked for simpler setup and easier collaboration. Many legal workflows depend on side-by-side comparisons, ownership rules, deadlines, and approval steps, so the gallery packages those elements into interfaces that colleagues can inspect and share.
Anthropic has also added more than 60 legal connectors since the product’s launch. The current list includes Bloomberg Law, Filevine, Ivo, Legora, and Patlytics, allowing teams to retrieve research, playbooks, and matter data without manually uploading each file.
Harvey plugs into Claude
The gallery includes partner-built Artifacts from legal technology companies and law firms. Harvey, a direct competitor in legal AI, contributed an Intake workflow that answers routine requests using a legal team’s guidance, playbooks, and prior work stored in Harvey.
Requests requiring legal judgment are routed to a lawyer through Harvey, and the response returns to the requester in Claude. Intake logs each request so legal teams can configure assignment rules, monitor progress, and triage incoming work.
- Goodwin contributed an AI Governance Benchmark.
- Foley & Lardner contributed an Obligations Checker.
- PwC contributed a Subpoena Response Tool.
Spellbook’s CEO said the company’s Claude-powered pipeline is approaching 500,000 contracts per month, providing one public measure of how much legal work already runs on the model in production.
A distribution layer for legal tech
For legal technology developers, the gallery creates an in-product distribution route. A vendor can connect its backend through Model Context Protocol, or MCP, which gives Claude a standard way to call external tools and retrieve data. The vendor can keep its domain logic in an existing service and use an Artifact as the interface inside Claude.
Legal operations teams gain a shorter route from workflow design to deployment. Source-linked results make contract findings, citations, and regulatory entries easier to verify, and shared interfaces give colleagues a common view of the work.
Nonprofits join the catalog
The collection includes nine access-to-justice tools, five developed by nonprofits funded through Claude credit grants. Anthropic is launching a Legal Ambassadors Program alongside the gallery to support practitioners building legal workflows with Claude.
The gallery is available now through Claude for Legal.
