# Worktrunk Lets Developers Run 10 Claude Code Agents Without File Conflicts

> A Rust CLI collapses git worktree management into three commands, letting you run Claude Code and Codex agents side by side without stepping on each other.

Running multiple coding agents in parallel sounds great until your file system becomes a warzone. Two Claude Code sessions editing the same working directory is a fast path to a corrupted branch and a bad afternoon. Git worktrees solve this by giving each agent an isolated checkout, but the built-in UX is famously clunky. [Worktrunk](https://github.com/max-sixty/worktrunk) is a new Rust CLI that wraps the whole workflow into three commands designed for parallel agent use.

## Why worktrees became an agent problem

Agents like Claude Code and Codex can now handle longer tasks without supervision, making it feasible to run 5-10 or more in parallel. Git's native worktree feature gives each agent its own working directory so they don't clobber each other's changes. The pattern is common enough that Anthropic recommends it in the [Claude Code best practices guide](https://www.anthropic.com/engineering/claude-code-best-practices).

Even starting a single worktree requires typing the branch name three times plus a manual `cd` into the new directory. Multiply that by ten agents and you spend more time wrangling paths than reviewing code.

## Three commands instead of six

Worktrunk's core idea is that worktrees are addressed by branch name, with paths computed from a configurable template. That single design choice collapses most of the ceremony:
