[Resume-Matcher](https://github.com/srbhr/Resume-Matcher) is an open-source tool that takes your existing resume and a job description, then uses an LLM to rewrite the resume specifically for that role. The idea is simple but the execution is full-stack: a FastAPI Python backend, a Next.js frontend, PDF export via headless Chromium, and support for six different AI providers including fully local inference through Ollama. With over 27,000 GitHub stars and nearly 5,000 forks, it has become one of the most-starred resume tools in the open-source ecosystem.

## The ATS problem it's solving

98% of large organizations use an Applicant Tracking System (ATS) to review and filter resumes, and on average 75% of resumes sent to larger businesses are rejected by these systems before a recruiter ever sees them. ATS systems work by ranking and sorting applicants based on keyword and criteria matching. Real pipeline data shows the median ATS score is 48 out of 100, with 52% of job description keywords missing from the average resume. That gap is exactly what Resume-Matcher targets.
