# Pika Labs Turns Solo AI Video Creation Into a Social Experience

> Pika adds in-app Community and Support Chats to its AI Agent platform, turning solo creative sessions into a shared, multiplayer experience

[Pika Labs](https://www.pika.me/) has always positioned its AI Agents as deeply personal creative partners , entities you literally "birth" with a custom face, voice, and personality. But building with an AI agent has, until now, been a fundamentally solo activity. That changes with the launch of Community and Support Chats, now live inside the Pika Agent mobile app.

## What just shipped

Users can now engage in a dedicated human-only Pika Community chat to share their latest AI-generated videos, exchange tips and inspiration, react with emojis, and build relationships with fellow creators. Alongside it sits an official Pika Support channel, where team members offer real-time troubleshooting and guidance.

- **Community Chat:** A human-only feed for sharing creations, reactions, and workflow tips
- **Support Chat:** Direct access to Pika staff for real-time help and troubleshooting
- **Available now:** Live in the Pika Agent iOS app at [pika.me](https://www.pika.me)

The accompanying demo video illustrates the update with elegant simplicity: a clean mobile interface toggling between the lively community feed, filled with shared creations and reactions, and the support chat, where direct assistance from Pika staff appears readily available.

## The bigger picture: Pika's social pivot

This update does not exist in isolation. Pika emphasizes building persistent, personalized AI agents that function as true creative partners: entities users "birth" with custom personalities, voices, appearances, and memories, then collaborate with across messaging, calls, and real-time video , an approach that transforms AI from a tool into something closer to a living extension of the creator's own workflow. Community and Support Chats are the latest layer in that stack.

The cadence of releases tells the story clearly. Earlier this year, Pika launched [PikaStream 1.0](https://www.pika.me/blog/introducing-real-time-video-chat) , a real-time visual engine that lets AI agents join live video calls. The update is powered by PikaStream 1.0, which Pika describes as a real-time visual engine built for identity-consistent talking avatars in live calls. The company says it can stream video at 24 frames per second with about 1.5 seconds of latency on a single H100 GPU. Then came Group Chats with Agents. Available directly within its platform at pika.me and the Pika Agent iOS app, the update allows users who have created a Pika Agent to bring that agent into shared conversations with friends, family, or colleagues , rather than limiting interactions to one-on-one chats.

Community and Support Chats are a different kind of addition: they are human-to-human spaces layered on top of the agent experience, not agent-to-human ones. The goal is to reduce friction at the edges of the workflow , the moments when a user gets stuck, needs inspiration, or simply wants to see what others are building.

## Why now

High-quality generation is becoming table stakes; sustained success increasingly depends on iteration, community insights, and quick resolutions to friction points. Pika's move acknowledges this reality, making advanced agent use more accessible and enjoyable. The competitive context matters here: Pika Labs operates in a market that includes several distinct categories of AI video generation competitors. OpenAI's Sora represents perhaps the most significant competitive threat, demonstrating exceptional capabilities in early demos with realistic human movement and complex scene generation. Google's Veo similarly leverages massive computational resources and research expertise.

When raw model quality converges across the field, the product layer , onboarding, community, support , becomes the real differentiator. This addition directly responds to user feedback about common hurdles in generative AI work, from steep learning curves and technical glitches to the isolation that can accompany experimental creative processes. By layering these human-centric spaces onto the agent foundation, Pika lowers barriers without disrupting the core one-on-one interaction that defines its agents.

## Who wins, who waits

For existing Pika Agent users, the benefit is immediate: faster answers, a place to share work, and a feedback loop that was previously missing. The agents remain portable: they can connect to external services including Slack, iMessage, Discord, and productivity platforms, allowing them to handle tasks that span beyond pure media generation. The community chat adds a native home for that creative output to land.

For developers building on top of Pika's platform, the more interesting signal is the MCP integration. The Pika MCP (Model Context Protocol) lets you connect your Pika Agent to outside MCP-compatible AI accounts, like Claude, giving you access to Pika's suite of creative content capabilities, skills and tools. That, combined with the [open-source Pika Skills repo on GitHub](https://github.com/Pika-Labs/Pika-Skills), means the platform is building outward , not just adding social features for end users, but extending hooks for the broader agent ecosystem.

Not everyone is happy, since introducing a social touch to the existing tool does not really improve results or capabilities. That is a fair critique. Community chats do not make the model better. But they do make the platform stickier , and in a market where every major lab is racing to ship the next video model, retention and community depth may matter just as much as benchmark scores.
