# Laravel Boost Stops AI Coding Agents From Hallucinating Wrong Framework Code

> Laravel's official MCP server gives AI coding agents deep context about your app, with 15+ specialized tools and 17,000 pieces of framework knowledge.

AI coding agents love PHP frameworks in the abstract but tend to hallucinate the specifics: wrong Eloquent syntax, deprecated Livewire APIs, invented Blade directives. [Laravel Boost](https://github.com/laravel/boost) is the Laravel team's official answer, and it has quietly grown into one of the more interesting framework-native takes on the Model Context Protocol.

Boost is an MCP server bundled with more than 15 specialized tools that give AI agents structured access to your application's routes, database, config, and installed package versions. Once it's installed, your agent stops guessing about your app and starts asking it.

## What Boost actually plugs into your agent

MCP is the emerging standard for letting AI clients call structured tools on external systems. Think of it as a standardized API between your agent and your local development environment. Instead of the agent reading your files and hoping for the best, MCP lets it ask structured questions. Boost implements that server side for a Laravel project.

Three capabilities ship together: MCP tools for inspecting and interacting with your application, composable AI guidelines written for the Laravel ecosystem, and a documentation API backed by over 17,000 pieces of Laravel-specific knowledge. The docs piece is worth pausing on. It pairs a built-in MCP tool with a knowledge base indexed via embeddings, so lookups are semantic and scoped to your installed versions.
