# Executor Cuts 278,800 Agent Tokens Down to 1,044 With One MCP Gateway

> Executor is an open-source MCP gateway that unifies OpenAPI, GraphQL, and MCP tools into a single sandboxed catalog agents share.

Every agent stack has the same messy backend: Claude Code, Cursor, and ChatGPT each need their own copy of every integration, the same API keys pasted into three configs, and no shared notion of what each tool is allowed to do. [Executor](https://github.com/UsefulSoftwareCo/executor) is a new MIT-licensed integration layer that sits between your agents and every external service, exposing them all through a single MCP endpoint.

The project is a Y Combinator-backed TypeScript monorepo that has climbed to around 3.1k stars on GitHub. [Its docs](https://executor.sh) describe it as an integration platform and MCP gateway that lets you securely connect services like Google Workspace, GitHub, and Slack, then read data and run actions through one endpoint.

## The context window problem it actually solves

The headline pitch is about wiring, but the real win is context efficiency. [Executor's own numbers](https://executor.sh) put it starkly: connecting the same catalog of GitHub, Stripe, Jira, Sentry, Linear, Gmail, Notion, and Slack tools directly would expose roughly 1,640 tools and burn around 278,800 tokens of context. Routed through Executor, the model sees a single `execute` tool costing about 1,044 tokens.

The mechanism is code-mode MCP. Instead of dumping every tool schema into the prompt, Executor gives the agent a sandboxed TypeScript runtime with a
