# Arc53's DocsGPT Grows Into a Full Private AI Agent Platform

> DocsGPT is a fully open-source, self-hostable AI platform combining RAG-powered search, a visual agent builder, and deep research tools with complete data privacy.

[DocsGPT](https://github.com/arc53/DocsGPT) has grown into one of the most complete open-source AI platforms for teams that need to keep their data in-house. What started as a document Q&A tool is now a full private AI stack: RAG-powered enterprise search, a visual agent workflow builder, deep research mode, and multi-model support, all under the MIT license and deployable anywhere from a laptop to a Kubernetes cluster.

## The data privacy problem it solves

Most enterprise AI tools require you to send your documents, queries, and internal knowledge to a third-party cloud. For companies in regulated industries, or anyone handling proprietary IP, that's a non-starter. DocsGPT lets you deploy private RAG pipelines, AI agents, and enterprise knowledge search on your own infrastructure. Your data never leaves your environment.

RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) grounds an LLM's answers in your own documents rather than its training data. Instead of the model guessing, it pulls exact information from your company's knowledge base. DocsGPT wraps this into a ready-to-deploy platform so you don't have to build the pipeline yourself.

## What's in the box

The feature set covers ingestion, agents, connectors, and deployment. Here's what matters most:

* **Wide format ingestion:** Reads PDF, DOCX, CSV, XLSX, EPUB, MD, RST, HTML, MDX, JSON, PPTX, images, and audio files including MP3, WAV, M4A, OGG, and WebM.
* **Speech workflows:** Record voice input into chat, transcribe audio on the backend, and ingest meeting recordings or voice notes as searchable knowledge.
* **Web and data connectors:**

_Preview only. Full text requires an AlphaSignal Pro account._
